Picking travel dates for Umrah from Pakistan
Picking travel dates for Umrah from Pakistan
Choosing dates is usually the first decision and the one people rush. A few questions make it easier.
Start with school and work. If children are travelling, check the school calendar before anything else. If adults are taking leave, find out how many days your employer will actually approve, because the length of the trip follows from that.
Then think about crowds and weather. Some times of year are busier than others at the mosque and in the hotels, and prices often move with demand. Ask your agent how the quote changes between dates, and ask for two or three alternatives so you can see the difference.
Heat matters, especially for older relatives. Ask which dates are likely to be hotter and what that means for the daily schedule.
Check your documents against the dates. Passport expiry is the usual problem, so look at it before you pay a deposit, not after. Your agent can tell you what validity they need.
Be careful with flexible dates. Airlines and hotels often have fixed rules about changes, so ask what happens if you need to move the trip by a week and what that costs.
Write the dates down, then confirm them in the quote with the exact departure and return day.
Travel Diaries is a Lahore tour company that also arranges Umrah packages, and the same date questions apply to any agent you speak to.
